Anime Winter ’17

The Winter Season of anime has arrived! After looking at the list of anime and reading some of the synopses, quite a few look worth giving a try. I’ve already watched a few that had peeked my curiosity and I’m complete satisfied with this batch of Winter anime, so far.

This winter season also brought with it the debut of English dub for Dragon Ball Super, on Toonami! I’m already watching the original Japanese dub, but I plan of watching English dub, for nostalgia. So far I’ve watched:

Youjo Senki: The Saga of Tanya the Evil
Savage! To say the least. An adaptation of a light novel, I’m looking forward to watching this. I’m curious to see just what did a Japanese “salaryman” do to anger a god enough for him to be transported to a pseudo-Germany filled with war and magic, and into the body of a little girl.

Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou Hen (Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Impure King)
The second season of Ao no Exorcist is here! First I had to go back and marathon the first season and the movie – for fun -, because I forgot how it ended.  While you would need to have watched the first season, or read the manga, the new arc doesn’t take off from where the last season left off. But rather the half way point, after Rin is attacked in the forest by Amaimon.

From the author of Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Funny and seems to be an interesting story. Aliens, space police, and tie ins from Reborn!. I’m a fan of Katekyo Hitman Reborn! so I’m a bit biased in hoping this is just as good.

Little Witch Academia
Not sure what to think of this one yet. Takes place at a magic academy for girls – I think, judging from the title and that I don’t remember seeing any male students. I’ll check out the 2nd episode.

Seems like it’ll be a heavily story oriented, Edo period anime. First episode was interesting, looking forward to watching the next episode.

Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon (Ms. Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid)
Hilarious! The first episode was absolutely hilarious! A dragon paired with a maid otaku. All the makings of a great manga, or anime in this case!

Can’t wait to see what else this Anime Winter has to offer! Any recommendations? Leave a comment below!
